Some fun facts about Dubai:

• There are more construction workers in Dubai than there are actual citizens.
• Dubai is said to currently have 15-25 % of all the world's building cranes.
• The world's largest amusement park today is the Disney world resort in Orlando, FL with 58 000 employees. Dubailand will be twice the size and have an estimated 200 000 visitors each day.

Ny teknik, oligarkbarock, ett övergivet hus och lite snickarglädje.

När gasen inte längre är gratis så måste man hitta nya sätt att hålla de eviga eldarna vid liv. I Tjerkasy i centrala Ukraina bytte man helt enkelt ut elden mot flammande LED-lampor. Lyktan
fungerar också som mobilmast.
























Vad gör man om man är ryss, förmögen och vill visa att man trots att pengarna är nya har stil, klass och anor? Bygger ett palats i någon sorts skruvad barock såklart.

Bokklubben informerar

Hejsan Alles!

Om någon undgått så förs det en underground bokklubb där vi går igenom bok efter bok ifrån listan över angiven+rekommenderad kurslitteratur. Mötena är inga förhör, utan man kan komma fastän man ej läst angivna kapitel. Vi diskuterar och går igenom olika ståndpunkter på ett relaxxat sätt medan vi imundigar medhavd lunch.

Våra senaste medlemmar har påpekat att dom hade joinat gruppen tidigare om dom känt till den!
Sagt och gjort, här finns vi, nästa möte inträffar Fredag 16, kl.12.00 i föreläsningssalen runt ovala bordet. Bring lunch.

Frank Lloyd Wright LEGO Sets

The LEGO Group and Brickstructures, Inc. to produce and distribute Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® LEGO® Architecture Building Sets

The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation announced today that The LEGO Group is now the exclusive licensed manufacturer of Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® LEGO Architecture sets.

The LEGO Group and Adam Reed Tucker of Brickstructures, Inc. officially introduced the LEGO Architecture line in 2008. The line currently consists of six buildings – now including two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous and recognizable buildings, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and “Fallingwater.”

With models developed in collaboration with architects, LEGO Architecture works to inspire future architects, engineers and designers as well as architecture fans around the world with the LEGO brick as a medium. Builders of all ages can now collect and construct their favorite worldwide architectural sites through these artistic replicas.

Both exclusive Frank Lloyd Wright LEGO Architecture sets contain booklets that feature traditional building instructions along with exclusive archival historical material and photographs of each iconic building.

The LEGO Group will release the first of the LEGO Architecture Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® sets at the opening of the Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibit: From Within Outward at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on May 15, 2009.
